William GLEESON & Honoria GLEESON
Thanks to the huge GLEESON database of
DJ GLEESON, we learn that William GLEESON married Onny GLEESON on 2
April 1858. Witnesses were John GLEESON, James GLEESON, and Anne
GLEESON. The ceremony was performed by Fr James McGrath, Silvermines.
There was no indication on the marriage entry that William and Onny were related.
Fr. McGrath would usually indicate on the marriage record if the
parties were related. DJ GLEESON states from the analysis of his huge
database of Gleesons, "William" is not a common given name among the
Gleeson families near Silvermines, AND Honoria(Onny) IS a strong
woman's name among Erinagh and Garryard townlands. So it is likely that
Onny was probably from a Gleeson Oxley family near Silvermines.
