This is Robert HIGGINS and probably Samantha CLAYTON, for three reasons.
First of all, Serepta BROOKS was 10 years older than Robert HIGGINS, and died in 1872 at the age of approximately 55.
Secondly, the photograph was produced in Kansas, and Serepta would have had to have had a reason to be in Kansas before 1872. This is unlikely.
Thirdly, the woman in the picture looks like she is in her 30's, and photography had not yet been invented when Serepta was in her 30's.
