From the 1800 census we find Robinson MELSON living in Accomack County, Virginia

A Robinson MELSON married a Susanna BUNTING on 30 July 1810 in Accomack, Virginia, per an I.G.I. record on the LDS website.

From the 1810 census we find the Robinson MELSON family living in St. George, Acomack County, Virginia
There were the following males:
 1 male between  26-44
 1 male between 10-15
 2 males under 10
 1 female between 16-25
 1 female between 10-15
 2 females under 10
Total household members =8, all white

From the 1820 census, conducted on 7 August 1820, we find the Robinson MELSON family living in Drummond, Accoack County, Virginia
There were the following males:
 1 male over 45
 2 males between 16-25
 1 male between 10-15
 1 female between 26-44
 1 female between 16-25
 2 females between 10-15
 2 females under 10
Total household members =10, all white

Assuming the above marriage record is accurate, and the ages of all the indiviuals is accurate, and the marriage of Robinson MELSON and Susanna BUNTING took place before the 1810 census, then the 6 children listed in the 1810 census were the result of previous marraiges for Robinson MELSON and Susanna BUNTING.
Given the ages in the censuses, Robinson Melson must have been born between 1766 & 1775, and Susanna  must have been born between  1785 &  1794

Per the old Jones Family Bible,  we know the name of one of their children(Ann B. MELSON), and that this child's parents were named Robinson and Susin MELSON:

Ann B. MELSON, born 7 April 1814 at Drummond, Accomack County, Virginia

Ann B. MELSON married Benjamin JONES on 14 September 1841.
