Joe HOPKIRK had a book in which he kept his family genealogical records.

It is not known what happened to his original book, but we do have John Brown HOPKIRK's copy of Joe's original book.

William(born 1780) HOPKIRK's grandfather William(1714) did indeed marry Isobel TAITE in 1739, but she died around 1750 and William remarried Margaret LAWRIE and their son James, born in 1756, married Anne WRIGHT. Isobel HUNTER was actually William(1780) Hopkirk's grandmother!!!.
