Warren STEPHEY was the son of David STEPHEY and Ida May STOUT
From Warren's death record we find he was born 15 May 1879 in
Stanford, Illinois. His parents are listed as J. D. STEPHEY, born
Cavetown, Maryland and Ida M. STOUT born in Stanford, Illinois. He
passed away on 24 December 1941 at Bloomigton, Illinois. Warren was
buried 27 december 1941 at Fairbury, Livingston County, Illinois at the
age of 62. He was a furniture salesman. His fathjer was listed as J. D.
STEPHEY of Cavetown, Maryland and his mother was Ida M. STOUT of
Stanford, Illinois. His wife was Ilma.
From Ilma's death record we find she was born 10 May 1881 at
MacKinaw, Illinois, the daughter of Anthony HAMILTON of Green Castle,
Indiana and Mary Ella LIVESAY of Minier, Illinois. Her spouse is listed
as W. E. STEPHEY. She died 7 April 1937 at Lexington, McLean County,
Illinois and she was buried 9 April 1937 at Fairbury. Livingston
County, Illinois, Graceland Cemetery, at the age of 55.
Warren STEPHEY was born in 15 May 1879, in Illinois, per his World War I Draft Registration. He was living in Livingston County, Illiunois.
From the 1880 census in Cavetown, Washington County, Maryland, we find the family of Daniel STEPHEY, age 53, a farmer born in Maryland, and Daniel's parents were also born in Maryland. His wife is Euphemia, age 49, born in Maryland and her parents were also born in Maryland. Also in the household are a son Charles, age 22, a farmer laborer; a son Frank, age 12; and a grandson, Warren E., age 1. Warren's mother is listed as being born in Illinois.
From the census information it is probably safe to assume that David STEPHEY had moved to Illinois and married. David's wife probably died in child birth, and David was probably not able to raise the child on his own. Thus the grandchild was taken back to Maryland. From the 1880 census for David STEPHEY, we find some confirmation of the above, since he is listed as widowed.
From his niece Jean Ashbrook we were told "Warren STEPHEY had twin sons, one of whom died as a child. The surviving twin had two sons, 7 grandchildren and many great grandchildren, including a set of triplets now in their first year of college as of 2002/2003 school year. The triplets are attending different universities in Illinois. Most of this family still lives in and around McLean County, Illinois."
Warren and Ida had twin sons:
Leslie Wayne STEPHEY, born 23 January 1908. Wayne passed away on 21 March 1913. Leslie Wayne STEPHEY gravestone and his parents Ilma and Warren's gravestone.

From the 1910 Census we find rhe family living on Ash Street in Indian Grove Township, Illinois. Warren E is 30, a furniture salesman, Ilma is 28, and twin sons Warren and Wane are 2 years old.
From the 1920 census the family is at 205 N. Webster Street, Indian Grove Township, Illinois. (This may now be called Fairbury) In the household are Warren E., age 40, Ilma L, age 38 and Warren L, age 11. Warren E is a retailMerchant of furniture and hardware.
From the 1930 census we find this family at 55 White Place, Bloomington, McLean County, Illinois. Warren E is 50 a Grocery Merchant, Ilma is 48 and Warren L is 22 a grocery salesman. They are renting and the value of their personal property is $50.
