From the 1881 census we find the above family, with the addition of youngest son James, age 8. Tiby is now listed as Lily. James C is still working as a Hatter and the family is living in Canongate registration district, Civil Parish of St. Andrews, 11b Queens Terrace, Edinburgh, Midlothian.
James Christer HOBKIRK passed away in early 1891 in Edinburgh.
